ATLANTA, GA, May 1, 2003 An
Emmy Award for Technical Achievement was presented this year
for the design and development of the Skycam. Over the past several years,
IntelliTrans personnel at the
August Design facility in Ardmore, PA played important roles
in the technical development of the system. Contributions included software design, electronic design
and mechanical design, as well as considerable field support.
This year, the Skycam was used at such events as the
Super Bowl, NCAA Final Four Basketball, NBA playoffs, NHL
broadcasts, ESPN NFL football, and many more events. Though Skycam is normally used in the broadcast of
sporting events it has important applications in rail
yards, terminals, ports, military facilities, and truck
depots in providing unique methods of security,
inventory management, inspection of cargo, facility
management and damage inspection. For
